One of Floor Depot’s achievements is its introduction of the 5R interlocking hardwood that allows installed/used wooden floors to be recycled, reused and resold. 5R Interlocking Hardwood Flooring is the first of its kind to be introduced in Malaysia. It is a brand that represents the finest quality of hardwood flooring; a result of the incorporation of the 5 elements (Revolutionary, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Resell) that discerns our brand from others.
The company was the first in Malaysia to introduce its new market positioning – the S.H.E flooring concept that transformed Floor Depot from a conventional wooden flooring supplier to a wooden flooring specialist in the market.
Floor Depot was also the first brand to introduce laminate flooring produced by adopting ‘’Perfect Equal Centric (PEC) Technology’’. The latest lamination technology with dual-face lamination creates a uniform pattern on the top and bottom of the floorboards, giving the series the versatility to match any interior designs.
To ensure consistent quality, Floor Depot has its own SOP (standard operating procedure) that guides its day-to-day operation. It adopts the S.H.E concept in the product selection process to ensure all activities poses minimum hazard to buyers, users and the environment. All operations are geared towards preserving mother nature, while bringing the best of Floor Depot wood flooring products and services to the market.
Our History
Floor Depot was established in 2001 in Malaysia. The first showroom was situated in Puchong, Selangor with a total number of two salespersons and one storekeeper. It started with a single type of wood flooring called Laminated Floorboard imported from Germany.
When Floor Depot first entered the market, it faced strong competition from the traditional supply chain in the market in terms of pricing and distribution channel. As the management foresaw the market demands in retailing and end-user market for reliable and easy access channels, the investment in A&P was then concentrated on trade brand building. The ultimate objective is to make the brand Floor Depot as a reliable benchmark wood flooring specialist in Malaysia’s home improvement and renovation industry.
